Licensed Professional Counselor | MA, LPC
As a licensed counselor, I have extensive training in clinically informed care models that speak to the realities of being embodied souls living in a fallen world. However, what I also know to be true is that Scripture is sufficient for speaking to the longings, pains, and suffering of our souls. We can only find meaning in our suffering because of the cross.
As a first step in counseling, I want to create a space where you feel comfortable entering the hard and often avoided parts of your story. Scripture teaches us that Jesus is present in our pain, and Christianity provides a unique confidence to face who we are and where we have been.
Because each person I work with is different, I employ various interventions and modalities in an effort to help you move past the places you feel stuck and towards the change or healing you hope to see in your life. However, that direction is always guided by the truths of who Scripture says we are designed to be and who God says He is. The overarching goal that guides my approach is helping people understand themselves better so they can know Jesus more fully.
Professionally, I have a BS in Biblical Studies and an MA in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I am licensed to practice counseling in Virginia and North Carolina. My office is located in Forrest, VA for in-person appointments. However, I am available for virtual appointments to anyone living in the states of Virginia or North Carolina.
My areas of interest are helping those dealing with anxiety, depression, spiritual issues, and marriage counseling. I also have focused experience in helping people navigate the complexities of obsessive-compulsive disorder (especially Spiritual OCD) and pornography addiction. Additionally, I am passionate about helping couples navigate difficulties in their marriage, especially in the context of struggles related to the impact of pornography, emotional distance, trust issues, and issues with communication.
