Licensed Psychologist | PsyD, MHA
Dr. Erin Ramachandran, PsyD, is an award-winning author, speaker, and licensed Christian psychologist in California. She is deeply dedicated to filling the industry gap of clinical research to support marriages navigating mental health and addiction challenges. Drawing from her own lived experience, she transitioned her career as a corporate health insurance director to Christian clinical psychologist, driven by a call from God to provide hope, health, and healing to those who feel alone yet remain committed in a marriage with mental health and addiction challenges.
Erin has been a Christian for over 25 years and has over 18 years of lived experience in a marriage impacted by multiple mental health disorders. Erin understands the daily realities these challenges bring to navigate faith and mental health —and what it takes to move from surviving to thriving. Her work focuses on advancing research and uncovering insights to better serve this often-overlooked population, with the goal of strengthening marriages and reducing divorce. Her doctoral research on scrupulosity (religious OCD) developed a grounded theory that distinguishes the psychological and religious dimensions of the disorder, highlighting her expertise at the intersection of faith, mental health, and spirituality.
Erin is the author of two gold medal–winning books, Mental Health Strong (2019) and Mental Health Strong Marriage (2024). She is also the founder of Restore Therapy Center, a nonprofit that serves as a clinical resource for marriages affected by major mental health conditions, including addiction. Complementing this, she and her husband, Keith co-founded, Mental Health Strong nonprofit with their small group to provide non-clinical support through peer groups, conferences, and other resources for educational support.
