I HELP COUPLES RESTORE SELFLESS LOVING IN MARRIAGE!

I have specialized in marriage for more than 20 years. Couples coming to me have one of three approaches for help. In the most common one, 77 percent of couples attending 3 or more sessions reported increased warm feelings for each other. This happens not by them complaining repeatedly about the problems but by growth in listening and healthy thinking, demonstrating care in ways that feel like care to their spouse. It aligns well with principles in scripture, and most couples enjoy it too!

I entered the people-helping fields back in 1993, when I saw a church homeless ministry doing more than just give a little change to people in tough spots. They actually talked to people and tried to help. When I realized that I have the ability to help people by really listening to them, I dove in! I trained for counseling and worked under professionals’ supervision. I earned a Master’s in Social Work degree (MSW) from Jane Addams College of Social Work, complementing my Bachelor’s from Northwestern University. I have worked in the Christian inpatient program Rapha, in psychiatric care hospitals, and at several ministries. I also am a speaker, covering topics including Happily Married, Attachment Parenting, and Men Breaking Free, and putting on marriage enrichment events. I was married for 22 years until the passing of my wife.

Outside of marital work, I provide counseling to individuals for mood difficulties, trauma, grief, men’s issues, and life changes. I am licensed in Kentucky as an LCSW. I’d love to try to help! (If I feel unequipped for your situation, I’ll offer referrals to you.)
