My career in Social Work spans three decades of providing services to those in need. Whether serving in child welfare, as an adoption counselor or working with court involved juveniles, my goal is always to engage with my clients in a manner that gives them respect and dignity.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Counseling Concentration from Liberty University, a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University, and a Doctor of Social Work from Tulane University. I hold clinical social work licenses in Florida, Alabama, Ohio, Mississippi, and Louisiana and am able to provide clinical counseling via face-to-face or virtual platforms in those states and am also able to provide clinical supervision in Florida, Alabama, and Ohio.
My approach to counseling is rooted in my faith and as a follower of Christ, I infuse a Biblical perspective and faith-based component with my counseling approaches. I utilize a Strengths-based Perspective that seeks to engage my client in establishing his/her treatment goals and encourages each client to invest in their own progress. With an eclectic approach, I tailor my counseling modalities to meet the needs of my client. I utilize components of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, as well as others, to assist my client in moving forward through his/her circumstances and emerging on the other side with renewed hope and on the path to healing.
I work with clients dealing with a variety of issues ranging from infertility, adoption issues, grief and loss, marital infidelity, depression, anxiety, adjustment to life circumstances, and more.
