Greetings! My name is Kristin Henricksen and I am excited to offer clinically excellent services at my private counseling practice, Hope Harbor, PLLC. I chose that name because I believe that “hope is the anchor of life,” and I want to provide a safe place where those experiencing the pain of loss, difficult relationships or life transitions, anxiety, depression, unresolved trauma or other challenges, can find a “pathway to hope, healing and radical transformation” (Hope Harbor’s mission). After a long career in the helping professions, first as a social worker, then as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach, I continue to be amazed when I see a client experience a breakthrough and discover and walk with a renewed sense of purpose. I have been enriched by the opportunity to work with people of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds and cultures (directing foster care programs, serving adoptive families), instructing students majoring in counseling at a major Christian university and providing clinical supervision for social workers and interns. Currently, I am enjoying the opportunity to serve clients in my private practice, mainly via telehealth. My therapeutic approach is dependent on the needs of the particular client, and may include EMDR, CBT, CBP, Expressive Arts or other modalities that align with a Christian worldview. Prayer and other Christian disciplines are offered, but never required.
I am a Charter Member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and happy to be included in Focus’ Christian Counselors Network. My interests outside of the therapy room include kayaking, swimming, fishing and other outdoor sports, as well as fine arts (painting and writing), and of course, spending quality time with family and friends. I love to travel, especially with my daughter, and also to participate in world missions.
