Kara Stone

Licensed Professional Counselor | MA, LPC

Kara has been serving the St. Louis and surrounding areas, coming alongside a variety of clients since 2008. In 2012, she established M.O.V.E. Christian Counseling, which stands for “Making Our Vows Eternal.” The significance behind M.O.V.E. is the process of moving forward while considering how each decision we make today impacts our tomorrow, here on Earth and in eternity. Kara later became a certified practitioner in the Aroma Freedom Technique using essential oils in her therapy to help identify limiting beliefs, emotional trauma, and anything that holds people back from moving in a forward direction. In 2020, Kara joined Focus on the Family in their Hope Restored marriage ministry in Branson as a therapist for couples in crisis. She enjoys being a part of that ministry every month and watching God perform miracles in marriage.

Kara has worked with couples, individuals, children, and adolescents, supporting them through marriage, family, interpersonal, and individual struggles. Kara helps facilitate emotional communication, encourages personal care and personal responsibility, assists with conflict resolution, and helps foster safety and boundaries in interpersonal relationships. She addresses depression and anxiety by nurturing self-esteem and instilling hope and confidence. She helps clients discover their self-worth by challenging unhelpful beliefs and adjusting their perceptions of the world around them.

Kara offers a safe, nonjudgmental environment, and equips clients with skills to maintain healthy, balanced lifestyles spiritually, mentally, emotionally, socially, and physically. She’d like to see her clients functioning to their full potential, pursuing their dreams, and improving their quality of life. She longs to instill hope for their future, freedom from their past, and the tools to embrace what they are given each day.
