What was your path to becoming a mental health provider?

Even as a teenager, I felt a strong draw toward people’s stories and emotions. I tried my best to hold space for my friends when they were struggling, though I knew I was out of my depth. That early interest motivated me to go to school and learn how to do it properly. From there, I began my career working with adolescents, young adults, and their families. I’ve been practicing as a therapist since 2004. I built my expertise in adolescent and young adult behavioral health through my early work as a school social worker. I then gained specialized experience in addictions treatment in a hospital setting before starting my own private practice in 2018.

What should someone know about working with you?

I enjoy helping my clients recover, build resilience, and create a life full of meaning. I blend my warm, personal therapeutic style with evidence-based practices to create a truly effective experience. I’m non-judgmental and bring an accepting, positive, energetic presence along with a good sense of humor. I’ve seen how a strong therapeutic alliance with the right therapist can make a powerful difference in someone’s mental health journey. Together, we’ll explore how conflicts, disappointments, and setbacks can turn into opportunities for you to get back on track or even take your life to the next level.

How do you continue learning and building new skills?

My graduate program emphasized that graduation doesn’t mean you know it all. I am still committed to lifelong learning and treating every client as a unique individual. I’ve learned a tremendous amount since 2004, but I still have so much to learn, especially about you! I see you as the expert and final authority on your own life so I’ll stay curious and really listen to you. Whether you’re eager to start therapy or feeling hesitant, you’re not alone. I know how challenging it can be to find a therapist who feels like the right fit, and I’m happy to help you find someone great, even if it isn’t me. Reach out today for a free consultation!
