Jimmy Loer

Licensed Marriage Family Therapist – Associate

I provide remote services only

I’m Jimmy Loer (pronounced Lauer), a therapist, husband, and father who believes real change happens through honest connection, steady support, and a willingness to face what’s been avoided. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 18 years in law enforcement. That experience continues to shape how I show up today—calm under pressure, direct when needed, and deeply respectful of the weight people carry, both seen and unseen.

I work with individuals and couples who feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed—especially those navigating trauma, relationship conflict, addiction, or the demands of high-stress professions like first responders. Many of the people I work with are used to holding it together for everyone else, often at the cost of their own well-being or relationships. They’re not looking for clichés or surface-level advice—they want clarity, direction, and tools that actually make a difference in their daily lives.

My approach is both practical and relational. I draw from evidence-based models like the Gottman Method and Structural Family Therapy to help identify patterns, improve communication, and rebuild trust. At the same time, I work systemically—looking beyond the individual to understand the larger relational dynamics at play.

For clients who desire it, I also integrate a Christian, faith-based perspective into the work. This isn’t about judgment or pressure—it’s about offering a space where faith can be explored as a source of meaning, healing, and direction. And for those who don’t want that, the work remains grounded, respectful, and focused on your goals.

Therapy with me is collaborative, honest, and focused on progress. I’m not here to simply listen—I’m here to help you move forward. That may mean having hard conversations, challenging patterns that no longer serve you, and building something more stable, connected, and intentional—whether in your relationships or within yourself.

If you’re ready to do the work, I’m here to walk alongside you.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
