Jennifer Lubanski, LMHC works with clients to build identity, communication, and community. Her approach to therapy is founded on the belief that mental wholeness includes right relationship with God, self and others. Using a Solution Focused approach to therapy, Jennifer will help you discover the best way to address your current concerns and tackle challenges. She works with you and your family to create and establish a new, healthy normal.

Jennifer has a heart for the challenges of motherhood. Whether the challenges are adoption, managing the demands of career and motherhood, and/or the transition into adulthood, motherhood has its own blessings, story and pitfalls. It is not surprising most mothers need support through at least one of life’s difficult transitions. Sometimes life writes a different story than the one we plan. Jennifer invites you to consider what meaning you make from the unexpected plot twists of your story, because the meaning we make determines our future path.

Families who have children struggling with mental health issues, special needs and trauma have added pressures. Jennifer’s passion for these families was sparked about 20 years ago as she watched her brother tackle the challenges of raising a child with autism. Her journey to connect with her niece led her to an ESDM (Early Start Denver Model) research project at the University of Washington. ESDM is a naturalistic behavioral therapy for young children with autism. While working at the University of Washington she provided in home behavioral therapy to young children but grew in understanding the impact a special needs child has on a family system.

After working at the University of Washington, she pursued her degree in counseling from Argosy University in Seattle, Washington. Her experience in graduate school reminded her of how deep her calling was to serve God and others. After receiving her counseling degree, she completed her application to become a licensed minister. Her undergraduate degree in education and church ministries from Northwest University qualified her for ministry licensure, but she had not, previously, pursued the designation. She has served in church since the age of twelve, when she taught her first Sunday School class.

In her early years as a clinician, she received extensive training through DCYF to offer in home reunification services for CPS involved families. As an adoptive mother she developed a unique voice and connection with these families. She continues to use this training and experience in her private practice setting.

Being a woman, an ordained minister, adoptive parent and licensed as a mental health counselor places her in a unique space for serving clients who seek to incorporate faith into their journey.
