Addictions (substance/general), EMDR Certified, Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate in the state of Texas. I help people, especially men, with addiction, depression, anger, and mood instability. I believe counseling is for anyone seeking concrete improvement in quality of life, self mastery, or mental and emotional health. I have experience working with children, teenagers, and adults, so I welcome all ages and couples. I will not only offer you an opportunity to share past and current difficulties, but I will work with you to create a vision for your life, so you can become your best self. I am happy to discuss your faith journey, and my faith infuses my approach.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and Economics from University of Dallas, a Master of Education from University of Notre Dame, and a Master of Mental Health Counseling from Amberton University. Before counseling, I spent five years teaching in underserved Catholic schools and another five years tutoring and managing a small SAT/ACT tutoring company. I also taught English in Spain for two summers, and I am fluent in Spanish.
Outside of counseling, I like to spend time with my family – my wife and four children. In my free time, I like to play basketball, read, bike, hike, and camp at state and national parks. My favorite park so far is Big Bend National Park in West Texas.
I am an Associate Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate, Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate, and trauma trained. My therapy modalities include EMDR, IFS, and DBT. If you have any questions, or anything you’d like to discuss, please reach out. I’d be honored to help you.
