Branden Smith

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Master Social Worker | MSW, LISW, LICDC

My therapy style is collaborative, motivational, goal oriented and research-based.

I earned my Master’s of Social Work degree from Eastern Michigan University with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Use. In addition to my private practice work I am a manager of a Residential Substance Use Program at a Community Mental Health agency in Toledo, Ohio. I have received additional training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These therapies are used to treat trauma and help individuals move past negative beliefs and experiences to live a happier, more adaptive and fulfilling life. In addition to these specialities I use elements of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. My therapeutic approach seeks to address mind, body and spirit and I am happy to incorporating clients’ spirituality and discussing issues from a faith-based perspective. My focus is treating adults with trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, low self-esteem and addiction. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to achieve their goals through creating an environment where individuals are understood, valued and empowered to grow personally.
