Licensed Clinical Social Worker
My name is Ashley Abbott, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have always believed that God placed a calling on my life to help others. While I didn’t always know what that would look like, I consistently found myself most fulfilled when walking alongside people in their valleys—offering hope, support, and encouragement through life’s most difficult seasons. My desire is to point clients toward God’s love and truth, as my own relationship with Christ has been the foundation of healing and strength throughout my own trials.
My career began serving children and families impacted by abuse and neglect within the foster care and juvenile justice systems. From there, I expanded my work with children, adolescents, and families across inpatient, psychiatric residential treatment, and outpatient settings. In these roles, I provided individual, family, and group therapy, advocated for youth involved in the court system, and supported clients in group home settings. These experiences equipped me with extensive training in crisis intervention, de-escalation, trauma-informed care, family conflict resolution, and working with individuals facing complex emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges.
As a Christian therapist, I believe that faith can be a powerful part of the healing process for those who desire to incorporate it into counseling. I thoughtfully integrate faith-based interventions—including prayer, Scripture, biblical reflection, and devotional resources—while respecting each client’s comfort level and personal relationship with Christ. Alongside Christian counseling, I utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual’s unique needs, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy.
I work with adolescents, adults, and women ages 13 to 60 and have a particular passion for serving teenagers and young adults as they navigate identity, relationships, life transitions, and emotional growth. I commonly help clients struggling with trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship concerns, self-esteem and identity issues, women’s issues, chronic illness, and suicidal thoughts.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and rooted in both clinical excellence and biblical truth. I believe healing happens when people feel genuinely seen, heard, and known. Whether we are processing painful experiences, building healthy coping skills, strengthening relationships, or deepening your faith, my goal is to provide a safe space where you can experience hope, healing, and lasting transformation.
I truly believe God has called me to this profession and that every client He entrusts to my care has purpose and value. It is a privilege to walk alongside individuals as they pursue healing, discover their God-given identity, and experience the freedom that comes through Christ. As Scripture reminds us, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20). It would be an honor to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and hope.
