Licensed Clinical Social Worker | MSW, LCSW
I am a Christian with a private practice here in Colorado Springs that I launched in the Spring of 2014. I provide care for individuals and couples ages 15-85. To know a little more about me, please feel free to look at my website: www.plankeelcounseling.com. Briefly, though, my areas of specialty include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and marriage therapy. I have specific expertise in PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) treatment and am trained in a variety of treatment approaches: Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psychodynamic approaches, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). For marriage therapy, I use Integrated Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), The Restoration Model, and influences from the Gottman approach and Internal Family Systems work. Otherwise, I am a long time therapist able to pull from many different approaches specific to each client and presenting issue.
I have a long history of practice working in foster care, teenage residential settings, substance abuse settings, community mental health care, and with our nation’s veterans. Locally, I was a therapist at the VA for 4.5 years and I was a therapist, clinical supervisor, and program manager with AspenPointe – Colorado Springs’ community mental health center now called Diversus Health. I attended Wheaton College as a psychology undergraduate and the University of Maryland for my Master’s in Social Work. I have my LCSW established in CO, and I really love what I do – especially when able to integrate the gospel. While I take some insurances (Medicare, Tricare, Cigna, and Aetna), I am primarily taking new clients wishing to self-pay with some exceptions. I do offer telehealth and in office therapy, and my website allows you to schedule appointments directly at this time.
