Mrs. Christine Bassett

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | LMFT, MA

She began seeing clients in 1998 and has worked with families, couples, children and individuals who are interested in becoming healthier individuals. Following her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Child Development from Western Washington University, she received her Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from George Fox University in Oregon.

Chris specializes in marriage enrichment and communication work for couples, parenting work, helping people heal from sexual abuse, eating disorders, working with anxiety, and play therapy for children. She also works with people struggling with grief, depression and family of origin issues. She enjoys working with missionary families and children and those in ministry.

With the experience of seeing families and children in therapy over the years, Chris has begun doing reunification therapy for families which addresses a breach or lack of unity between a parent and child, where the parents are divorced or living apart. It may be sought by the parents or ordered by the court.

Some of the favorite books I recommend to people are the following: Boundaries by Cloud & Townsend; Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work by Gottman; Loving our Kids on Purpose by Danny Silk; Keep Your Love On, by Danny Silk; Brene Brown books: Rising Strong, The Gifts of Imperfection.
