Licensed Professional Counselor – Candidate

I’m Tryphtin Scott, a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in Loveland, Colorado. I work with adolescents and adults navigating addiction, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), unwanted sexual behaviors and pornography use, trauma, and other concerns that can leave people feeling stuck in patterns they want to change.

My approach to counseling is practical, relational, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change involves more than simply reducing symptoms. I want to help clients understand what is driving their struggles, develop healthier patterns, and move toward lives marked by greater freedom, responsibility, connection, and purpose.

I have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I particularly enjoy working with clients who have struggled with compulsive behaviors or unwanted pornography use, including those whose concerns intersect with OCD, shame, trauma, relationships, or questions of identity and purpose.

My Christian faith deeply informs how I understand people, suffering, relationships, and restoration. For clients who desire it, I welcome the integration of Christian faith and biblical principles into counseling. I also believe faith integration should be thoughtful and clinically responsible, rather than reducing complex struggles to simple spiritual answers.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent many years working in technical and engineering environments. That background continues to influence the way I approach counseling: I enjoy understanding how different pieces of a problem fit together while never losing sight of the person behind the problem.

My goal is to provide a place where clients can speak candidly about difficult parts of their lives, examine patterns honestly, and do the challenging work necessary for lasting change.
