For women who experienced sexual abuse earlier in life, trauma can quietly resurface in adulthood. It may appear in relationships, in difficulty trusting others, or in constant worry about protecting your own children. Many women carry deep shame about asking for help, believing they simply have to live with what happened. But trauma does not have to stay trapped in your body and mind. There is a path toward healing.

Through Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, healing does not require retelling of every detail of what happened. Many clients feel it deeply relieving to work through painful memories gently and at their own pace until those memories no longer control daily life.

Hi, I’m Emily. I’m a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma therapist serving clients in-person in Littleton and virtually throughout Colorado. For over six years, I have specialized in evidence-based trauma treatment, including EMDR for sexual abuse. My work focuses on helping adolescents and women gently process painful experiences so they can move forward with greater peace and stability.

I believe healing happens when people are met with compassion and respect for their dignity. Trauma can affect every part of a person’s life—mind, body, and soul—and therapy can be a place where those parts begin to reconnect and restore.
