Focus on the Family is devoted to helping marriages and families work through their struggles so that they can thrive and be all that God has created them to be. Hello, my name is Don Damborg and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Colorado Springs. I also am an Intensive Therapist with Focus on the Family and their “Hope Restored” program. I specialize in working with couples and marriages that are in crisis.
I teach the skills to help couples express their needs, be understood, and feel heard, loved, and respected – and then, start being the couple they desire to be – more connected, intimate, and working together as a team.
I help couples get out of the “crazy cycle” that seems hopeless, where each person tries to communicate and be understood, but negative emotions and damaging reactions get in the way – and the communication just causes more pain and conflict in the relationship!
I help couples relate in a much better way – effectively communicating and understanding one another and relating as a couple.
I also work with married couples who are seperated and/or on the brink divorce, and with relationships that may be complicated by factors involving infidelity, substance abuse, anger, pornography, domestic violence, or past trauma or abuse. I am trained in these special areas of therapy and desire to help you get through your current crisis.
