Licensed Professional Counselor – Candidate | M.A., LPC-Candidate
I am privileged to be a licensed professional counseling candidate in the beautiful state of Colorado. I obtained my Master of Arts degree in in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University along with my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of San Diego. I am further trained in EMDR therapy as well as received a Level 2 Certificate in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
I have been a Christian my entire life and consider my faith to be an integral part of helping people heal from their wounds so that they are able to recover and live fulfilled lives with God as well as in their families and within their community.
I bring a variety of life experiences to the table, including being a previous high school English and AP Psychology teacher, raising a blended family of 5 children with my loving husband of 27 years, involvement with women’s ministries at local churches, and writing for my own website regarding the lives of women in scripture. I am a fellow pet lover with 3 dogs and one cat. I am also an avid hiker who enjoys reading and amateur photography.
I have a passion for those who have endured trauma because of the significant challenges that they face in recovering from their wounds, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside them through their journey of healing into health. Many times, the effects of physical, emotional, sexual, and spiritual abuse can affect their ability to function in everyday life, and I pray that through counseling, they will rediscover their relationship with God and a path towards forgiveness for themselves and others. Ultimately, I pray that they can find peace and hope once again with a direction and purpose in their daily lives and in their future.
I endeavor to treat everyone with loving respect and kindness in order to understand and extend compassion to each client so that they feel warm, safe, and loved. I further bring variety of different modalities centered within a Christian framework to my sessions as I collaborate with my clients in a way that meets their individual needs.
