Mears Amundson

Licensed Professional Counselor | MA, LPC

Welcome to Healing 180 Counseling. If you’re carrying the weight of past trauma, emotional wounds, or experiences that feel too heavy to name, I want you to know—you’re not alone. This is a space of safety, compassion, and hope where your story matters and your healing journey is honored. Through a Christ-centered, trauma-informed approach, you’ll be met with care and supported as you begin to release what’s been holding you back.

I’m a licensed mental health therapist with a passion for walking alongside people as they pursue healing, restoration, and renewal. I believe true healing addresses the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and that God meets us in the most tender places of our lives with love, grace, and transformation.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and Master’s degrees in both Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Addiction Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. I’ve also received advanced training in trauma recovery, including certification in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These therapies are highly effective in treating trauma, PTSD, OCD, anxiety, depression, grief, and phobias.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of settings—from private practice to inpatient psychiatric care, as well as a dual diagnosis treatment center supporting those facing both addiction and mental health challenges. Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years in ministry offering biblical counseling and care, which helped shape the compassionate, faith-centered approach I bring to my work today.

Healing 180 Counseling was born out of a desire to create a space where people feel seen, heard, and supported. My approach integrates professional counseling with the truth of God’s Word and the gentle leading of the Holy Spirit. I believe that no matter what you’ve walked through, healing is possible—and your life can be renewed.

One of the verses that continues to inspire my work is Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” This powerful promise reminds us that even in seasons of weariness, God offers renewal. It’s my heart to create a space where you can experience that renewal—where hope is restored, strength is rebuilt, and you can begin to soar again, fully anchored in the truth of who God created you to be.
