LeAnna Fowlds, LCSW, CFMT, is a compassionate therapist with a deep commitment to serving others. Born and raised in Northeast Missouri, she began her educational journey at Truman State University and pursued Business Management training at Iowa Management Systems. Her calling to support others led her to complete a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tarleton State University and later a Master of Social Work at the University of Texas, Arlington. With over 4,000 hours of practicum and supervision, LeAnna honed her expertise in trauma and mental health disorders, particularly through her work with youth in intensive treatment programs.
LeAnna also brings her compassionate, person-centered approach to couples therapy, where she focuses on fostering understanding, trust, and mutual respect between partners. With her background in trauma-informed care, LeAnna is skilled in helping couples navigate complex dynamics that may stem from past traumas, communication challenges, or unresolved conflicts. Her approach emphasizes empathy and active listening, creating a supportive environment where each partner feels heard and valued. LeAnna believes that a strong, trusting relationship between partners is foundational to personal and relational growth, and she is dedicated to helping couples reconnect and strengthen their bond, even through difficult times. Whether addressing issues related to intimacy, trust, or effective communication, LeAnna’s goal is to guide couples toward a healthier, more fulfilling partnership. LeAnna specializes in Focused Marital Therapy and is a member of the Christian Counselors Network.
Throughout her career, LeAnna has specialized in working with clients facing a range of issues, including trauma, addiction, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Her extensive training in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) has equipped her to support clients with a history of complex trauma, applying an approach rooted in attachment theory, sensory processing, and neuroscience. LeAnna’s background also includes an intensive habilitation program with Tarrant County Juvenile Probation and Parole, where she worked with youth diagnosed with conditions such as ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, and complex trauma.
LeAnna’s holistic and person-centered approach to therapy emphasizes empathy, active listening, and collaboration. She is skilled in treating a broad spectrum of issues, from OCD, PTSD, and anxiety to relationship issues and self-harm. LeAnna is an activist in leading others to better understand Health at Every Size working with others to focus on better health outcomes regardless of size or body type.
In addition to her clinical work, she is a passionate advocate in the fight against human trafficking, actively contributing to the Tarrant County Five Stones Task Force. Outside of her professional life, LeAnna enjoys outdoor activities such as swimming, boating, hiking, and horseback riding. She is also a former Licensed Private Investigator, an accomplished public speaker, and aspires to be a published author.
