Licensed Marriage Family Therapist – Associate, Licensed Professional Counselor – Candidate
Lauren loves working with couples and families, intricacies and all, and she aims to highlight each member’s unique voice and provide tools and strategies to establish the best possible structure, communication, and patterns of interaction. Conflict is inevitable, but Lauren empowers each individual with the skills to regulate themselves emotionally, listen effectively, and reconcile wholeheartedly.
Lauren also works with individual females (adults and teens) seeking to rediscover their identity and worth, maintain boundaries, and thrive relationally, emotionally, and spiritually. With all clients, Lauren sits in the suffering, assists in finding purpose, provides psychoeducation and evidence-based practices, helps disrupt negative cycles, identifies strengths, and points to the hope, love, joy, and peace found in Christ.
Her Christian faith is everything to Lauren, and it is the foundation from which she counsels people with both truth and grace. Her life goal is to love people well, and she aims to create a warm, welcoming, and safe space in which people are free to come as they are, experience the full range of emotions just as God intended, and work towards healing and thriving. Just as God created every individual uniquely and specifically, Lauren develops a holistic understanding of each individual, couple, and family so that she can best walk alongside them on their counseling journey.
Lauren has her Level 2 certificate in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, is certified in Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts (SYMBIS) for working with premarital couples, and is trained in Restoration Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Expressive Art Therapy. She also draws from Structural Family Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Lauren is heavily Systemic and Person-Centered, and she believes healthy relationships are fundamental to a person’s wellbeing, including having great rapport, collaboration, and trust with your counselor.
In her free time, Lauren loves spending time with her husband and Bernese Mountain Dog named Moose, playing sports or paddle boarding, traveling, reading and writing creatively, cooking and baking, and pursuing artistic hobbies such as painting, stained glass, and other crafts. Lauren is also involved in her local church and loves serving as a Youth Leader alongside her husband, the Youth Pastor.
