In my life throughout times of sorrow or suffering, as well as peace and joy, I have seen God working through my circumstances for my good and for His glory – so I love incorporating biblical truths, scripture, and prayer in counseling sessions. In addition, I also utilize information and insights from Christian books that I read, as well as incorporating counseling theories such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which emphasizes building a life based on your values.
I counsel individuals 15 years and older who are experiencing (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, or trouble adjusting to changes in life. I also counsel individuals who desire to process previous experiences or want accountability in enacting long-term changes. I am a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist- Associate (LCAS-A), so I can also counsel individuals who are misusing substances or would like to improve their relationship with substances to improve their mental health and general well-being!
The Bible provides us with examples of God redeeming His people for His glory, despite their shortcomings and failures. God has already authored our story and He has a plan to work through our circumstances for our good and for His glory.
