I am a mom to four precious little kids and a wife to a wonderful christian man who is currently serving as the Associate Pastor at a local church in Tavares, FL. Our family navigates the challenges of special needs parenting as we are learning to parent a child with ADHD/Autism.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Ministry and Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University, christian university in South Florida. I’ve enjoyed working in a variety of settings, some secular and some christian, but mostly all with families, adolescents and marriage.
I am very passionate about families and individual’s mental health, spirituality, relationships, and physical health. I have been serving families in ministry for 12+ years and have specific experience with family of origin trauma, attachment, blended families, marital conflict, grief and paretning children with special needs. I have worked with children, teens and adults in a variety of settings to bring healing and restoration. I have previously worked as a house parent at Place of Hope with teen girls who were victims of sex trafficking. I worked at Boys Town with youth and families connecting them to mental health services. I hold specific training in marriage and family approaches and am a certified facilitator and trainer in Prepare Enrich and Couples Communication. I also completed the level 1 the Gottman Methods training. I’m trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and help clients use eye movements to overcome trauma. I highly value the importance of spirituality in bringing hope and healing to individuals, couples and families.
I use an integrative approach to combine clinically proven interventions with biblical truth (when requested). I highly value the importance of spirituality and view therapy as a collaborative effort; tailoring therapy to your individual needs.
