Licensed Professional Counselor – Candidate
Jemima Neddy Organ, PhD, LPC-C, is a servant leader, educator, and licensed professional counselor-candidate in Colorado. She has more than 28 years of experience in the mental health profession across diverse global contexts. She is an active member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and is deeply committed to integrating counseling psychology, adult education, and leadership development.
Mrs. Organ earned her Ph.D. in Organization, Information, and Learning Sciences (OILS) from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, USA. Her dissertation, “Motivational Interviewing: A Tool for Servant Leadership”, explored the application of Motivational Interviewing (MI) within leadership and organizational settings. She was trained, coached, and mentored by Dr. William “Bill” Miller, the co-founder of Motivational Interviewing. She holds a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Counseling from the University of Nairobi.
Mrs. Organ teaches, trains, presents, and coaches leaders on integrating Motivational Interviewing into their leadership style. In Fall 2022, she taught a block semester course at Colorado College on Motivational Interviewing as a tool for servant leadership. She has also served as a graduate and teaching assistant in the OILS program at the University of New Mexico. In addition, she has initiated both online and in-person forums to engage organizations and leaders in dialogue around her dissertation research and its practical applications.
While living and working in Kenya, Mrs. Organ was actively involved in community-based mental health advocacy and initiated drafting a psychological bill to formally recognize counseling as a profession in the country. She also founded a behavior change program for youth within a faith-based organization. Through her leadership, training, and mentoring of local leaders, this program has expanded to six countries across Africa. Mrs.Organ has been published in the “International Journal of Servant Leadership” and is available for teaching, training, and consultancy.
