Dr. Zimmerman received his bachelor of arts degree at Wheaton College and his doctorate in psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. He has almost 35 years of experience working with adults, families, adolescents and children in a variety of settings. Clients report feeling valued, respected and heard as Dr. Zimmerman partners with his clients on their journey to become a better version of themselves and their families. He considers it a privilege to walk with his clients on this journey. While his years of experience, knowledge and professionalism inspire confidence, his use of humor and ability to connect on a personal level create an atmosphere of comfort and trust.
Dr. Zimmerman has particular expertise in the areas of ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression and relationship issues. While he often leans on CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) strategies to help clients gain insight into how their thinking style impacts their emotions and behaviors, he is flexible in his approach, tailoring therapeutic strategy to the unique needs and preferences of his clients.
Dr. Zimmerman is partnering with a teletherapy platform called Sondermind, which provides for the ability to utilize all major insurance carriers as well as allowing for a reasonable cash pay fee of $119 per session. In-person sessions are not available at this time.
