Dr. C. Dennis King, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who offers clinically excellent and Biblically informed psychiatric mental health services for Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults. Dr. King is available for in-home and telemedicine appointments.

Professional Background

Craig Dennis King (Denny) is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Case Western Reserve University Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing. He also teaches at Case Western University helping train up the next generation of nurses. Denny brings both clinical expertise and heartfelt compassion to his work in psychiatric care.

Clinical Experience and Faith-Based Integration

Denny began his nursing career in 2013 as a registered nurse on a general medicine unit in Cleveland. In 2018, he transitioned to advanced practice as a Family Systems Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, providing outpatient and residential care throughout Akron, Canton, and Cleveland. He also served as a counselor and consultant to Fieldstone Counseling, a faith-based, clinically informed counseling center. To further enhance his faith-based approach, Denny completed a Biblical Counseling Formation Certificate through the Christian Counseling Education Foundation.

Kindred Family Care

At Kindred Family Care, Denny specializes in psychiatric assessment, treatment, and telemedicine designed to help children, adolescents, and their families. He takes a conservative, evidence-based approach to prescribing medication for children and teens, striving to use the smallest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary. When appropriate, he engages in “de-prescribing”—the thoughtful, deliberate process of discontinuing or reducing medications that may no longer be beneficial or could be contributing to emotional or behavioral concerns. Denny collaborates closely with families to develop treatment plans that best meet their individual needs.

Personal Life and Values

Denny is a devoted husband and father of four. He is an active member of his local church, where he enjoys serving and participating in his community. Outside of work, he enjoys running, cycling, swimming, hiking, reading, and playing music. Whether in the clinic, the classroom, or the community, Denny is dedicated to fostering hope, resilience, and meaningful transformation in the lives of the individuals and families he serves.
