“The training I received to become a contract therapist at Hope Restored has helped me become a better therapist in so many ways. In my private practice, I utilize the Reactive Cycle as an instrument to help clients discover their core wounds, reactions, and wants. Clients have gained insight about how their own wounds, reactions, and wants influence their spouse. The Heart Talk model has been instrumental in helping couples hear each other at an emotional level and increase compassion and understanding for their spouse. I also use the Care Cycle extensively to help clients increase self-awareness, self compassion and discovery about their own wounds. Through the Care Cycle, clients learn to accept personal responsibility for their hearts and how to bring their wounds to the Lord for healing.
The Be List is also a tool that I frequently use when I am working with a client who struggles to grasp their identity and worth and how to walk in the confidence of who God created them to be. I am confident that my training at Hope Restored has given me great insight and skills as I work with individuals and couples in private practice. The tools have also impacted my own marriage greatly and helped my husband and I understand ourselves, each other, and God at a deeper level.”
“The Hope Restored Model has been an amazing and effective model in my work with individuals and relationships in my private practice. The Hope Restored Model has had the single greatest influence on how I do therapy (and life for that matter). Especially in the beginning stages of therapy, the Model shines light on the problems and issues and brings clarity and structure to the healing process of the relationships.
The plethora of effective tools in the model: the Care Cycle, Fear Cycle, Healthy Marriage Model, and all the other tools are not just unusable, but essential in healing and recovery. The Model makes possible the ability to pinpoint the issues, brings clarity to the problems and confidence to a healthy future. It has been my privilege to use these God-given tools with marriage and individuals. It’s said that “all good things come from above”, so thank you Lord for the Hope Restored Model.
May the Lord continue to use it to bring about healing in relationships.”

Every state is a little different in how they approve and credit continuing education activity needed for license renewal. You will need to study the continuing education requirements in your state and perhaps consult with the licensing board to be sure. Focus on the Family is partnering with Evangel University, an accredited institution of higher learning. Most states approve continuing education earned in conjunction with an accredited university. Some states have “formal” and “informal” categories for counting continuing education activity. In states that recognized continuing education from an accredited university your earned continuing education hours in the Focus Marital Therapy Certification Program should count toward your “formal” continuing education requirements for licensure renewal. Again, it is each trainee’s responsibility to know and understand the continuing education requirements for license renewal in the state where they are licensed.
