Mrs. Stevi Reed

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor | M.Ed., LCMHC, NCC

I am the owner of Anchored Hope Counseling. In therapy, I will help you create a hope filled future by helping you understand your past and present. My clients find me as empathetic, encouraging, but challenging. I value showing up to our sessions authentically by being encouraging, but honest and bold when necessary. To me, it is important to validate your life experiences and how they have impacted your life. Don’t worry about talking about “uncomfortable” topics in therapy. I am comfortable talking about anything and can help you feel at ease during difficult conversations by creating trust, showing empathy, and welcoming humor when it arises.

In our sessions, I want you to understand that I am also devoted to my own growth, and I do not have higher expectations for my clients than I have for myself. I know that the therapeutic process can be scary and hard to commit to. However, I also know the process is worth it. I have personally found that our greatest challenges can lead to our greatest change.

Ultimately, my mission is to help clients attain a steadfast hope in their lives: an anchored faith in themselves and their relationships, and a firm confidence to face the storms of life. Counseling does not make life itself better because life’s difficulties are inescapable. Instead, therapy is meant to provide you with the skills and confidence to know you can handle any arising life challenges, an anchor of hope in the storm. This hope can provide you with freedom from the worry, pain, and conflict that holds you back.

I began my career in counseling after receiving a Master of Education in School Counseling from Liberty University. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (#14663), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC #1097272).

Prior to opening Anchored Hope Counseling, I worked as a counselor in many settings including schools, Hospice, and ministry. Combined, I have over 14 years of counseling and ministry work with children, adolescents, adults and couples. While I love working with clients struggling with anxiety, relationships, or their faith, I have expertise in helping people of all ages in many different areas; including of self-esteem, depression, stress management, academic/career coaching, behavioral issues, life transitions, grief and loss, and trauma.

I believe that counseling is not “one size fits all,” so I use an eclectic counseling approach and tailor each session to the client’s needs; often integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Techniques and play therapy with children. Furthermore, my Christian faith is an important element of how I view the world and I believe that spiritual insights are helpful upon client request for Christian counseling.
