I am a licensed Master of Social Work, with experience in working with military, veterans, and first responders as well as their dependents. As a clinician in Tucson, Arizona with Arizona Family Counseling, a ministry of Christian Family Care, I offer services to adults and couples for a variety of social and emotional concerns. I received an advanced standing degree and am certified in military social work where I utilize a variety of skills including CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Cognitive behavioral therapy such as thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can be intertwined with biblical counseling. James speaks about how our beliefs affect our behaviors (James 2:14). Philippians 4:8 tells us to continually focus our minds on Him. As Christians we aim to hear God’s will and not our own as we navigate integrating scripture into our lives living in His truth. Cognitive behavioral therapy is one way to identify and target areas of concern God is teaching us to grow through in each season of life.
Prior to working with Christian Family Care/ Arizona Family Counseling my experience has been supporting families through loss include being a T.A.P.S. (tragedy assistance program for survivors) peer mentor as well as advocating for surviving family member support through the Pentagon. While in my graduate training I spent time at an inpatient facility focusing on working with those who were experiencing adjustment concerns, trauma, suicidality, substance use, and an array of maladaptive coping.
I use diverse community experience and practice knowledge to support a variety of clients compassionately and collaboratively. My goal is to encouragingly scaffold clients as you heal while feeling seen and heard during your season of growth.
I am an extroverted military spouse with 3 children and enjoy time with my family and friends, being active, as well as traveling.
