I am a born and raised Southern girl and now a recent transplant to Virginia. I’m a licensed clinical social worker in both Virginia and Georgia and have 22+ years’ experience working with children, parents, and adult women in various stages of life. My specialities include anxiety, depression, ADD, stress and parenting difficulties. Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I have some limited availability for clients that will benefit from these modalities.
I believe my job is to assist you with resolving your concerns in the most effective, efficient way possible. I primarily utilize brief solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy. Additionally, I have 12+ years experience completing substance abuse, anger management and parenting assessments.
In the midst of the serious work of therapy, I seek to help others find hope, humor, and a renewed joy for life. As part of a solution focused approach, I encourage clients to pursue a holistic approach to health- incorporating exercise, proper sleep and nutrition, spiritual practices, healthy relationships, and enjoyable activities.
