Dr. Pela has been in practice for over 30 years with current specializations in individual, couples, and family therapy for gender dysphoria and autism.
Dr. Pela is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy at Arizona Christian University where she also serves as Dean of Graduate and Online Studies.
She has conducted longitudinal, empirical, clinical outcome research investigating SAFE-T (Sexual Attraction Fluidity Exploration in Therapy) resulting in clear evidence that individuals can influence their sexual attractions toward greater opposite sex attraction while improving their well-being.
