Chuck Powers

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | MA, LMFT

I am a second-career marriage and family therapist specializing in relationships/marriages. I graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Psychology in 1995. I completed a MA in Educational Psychology with a focus in Psychometrics in 2000. I returned to school in 2016 to earn a MA in Professional Counseling (2018). I am a licensed clinician and own my own practice in Round Rock, TX. I’ve been counseling for nearly 6 years, and 85%-90% of my clients are couples. My passion is to help reduce the rate of divorce in the US through helping couples in the counseling room and by publishing a book on why we get stuck, lose hope, and ultimately agree to part when we run out of ideas and emotional resources to carry on. While divorce can sometimes be an ugly truth (lack of safety, serial infidelity), I believe most divorces do not have to occur. They destroy so many families, and it leaves us broken and fearful about our futures. And, even worse, since we never figure out what causes this destruction, we’re destined to repeat it in future relationships. I’m desperate to help change this pattern. It doesn’t have to be this way.
